Ideology executes another Nissan Training project, this time for the Sub-Saharan group
Ideology were once again called in to execute another training event for Nissan South Africa, which was conducted from the 22-25 November 2021. This time around with 43 international guests from the Sub-Saharan region, covering training of Nissan's new products, namely the new Navara, Terra and Qashqai.
We selected the Capital Menlyn Maine in Pretoria as our preferred venue, which would host our guests. The guests took care of their own flights and accommodation, however we looked after the guest relations, transfers and close protection services, to ensure the security of our guests whilst in transit.
On arrival guests were given rapid COVID tests to ensure the safety of all guests.
The first 2 day's of the event covered theory in the form of a 2-day conference at the Capital Menlyn Maine.
This is what we did at the conference - on arrival guests went through the COVID check point, were registered, issued name badges and gift packs and could then enjoy the arrival eats along with perusing the vehicle displays.
Here was the setup in the passageway outside the conference rooms:
Outside the conference area on the outdoor patio, we set up furniture, decor and branding, along with background music for our guests:
We set up 3 conference rooms, including 2 English rooms and a French room for the training sessions. Each room included a branded wall that we built, covered in a custom print along with 2 screens and a speaker, as well as a lecturn where the trainer could plug into the system. With the room dividing walls we were able to use all 3 rooms as 1 main plenary, or as 3 individual rooms. Each room had a specific theme to arrange the guests into their respective teams, namely Sand, Steel and Meadow respectively. Decor was added to all tables to further entrench that theme per room.
The day started with speeches and some presentations as a main plenary:
Thereafter the rooms were split into 3 using the venue's dividing walls where the trainers then took over the sessions for the rest of the day:
Ideology also designed and printed, along with providing stands for directional signage at the conference:
Other than arrival eats, venue also did the tea break catering as well as lunch, hosted at the Khoi Restaurant at the hotel:
The following day, our guests were given a tour of the Nissan Rosslyn plant, where we were merely involved in shuttling them there and back, with close protection units in support.
That evening though, we hosted 65 guests to a celebratory dinner at the Kream Brooklyn restaurant in Pretoria. A small PA system for speeches as well as some branding was setup at the venue. Guests also received a gift on their table, which was a hand-made wire replica of the Nissan Navara, made by a charity in the Eastern Cape using under privileged workers. Ideology also handled the shuttling to and from venue with close protection units, along with medic and health and safety in attendance at the dinner.
The following day, for the last day of the event, was where we really got to have some fun, putting these 3 new vehicles from Nissan to the ultimate test at the Gerotek testing facility, namely the new Nissan Navara, Terra and Qashqai.
Once again Ideology did the shuttling and close protection units for the day, along with the medic and health & safety officer, including the COVID protocols. In addition, Ideology also managed the venue, catering, furniture, decor and a small PA system, along with managing a capable team of instructors and the tracks used on the day. Vehicle and cleaning logistics were also handled by our instructors.
The day started with arrival, the usual COVID checks, arrival eats, barista coffee service along with some opening speeches at the Karee Lapa.
Followed by a quick driver briefing before being split into their respective groups:
Thereafter the groups went off to do the track activities. Qashqai was experienced on Advanced Ride & Handling,
as well as on High Speed Oval.
Terra was experienced on Suspension track as well as Rough Track,
and finally Navara was experienced on Duck Pond and the Concrete Ride & Handling.
To close off the track experiences, both Navara and Terra were also put through the Sand Trap and Gradients at Gerotek.
To split the day in half, we also hosted our guests for lunch at the Karee Lapa.
Some lovely desserts were also served to our guests:
We also served our guests dry snacks and beverages throughout the day to keep them nourished at all times:
And finally, we also provided rapid COVID tests on site before guests needed to head back to the airport before their return trip home.
All-in-all another succesful project for Nissan Training. Client was very happy once again and some of the guests even commented that it was the best trip they have had thus far. Bring on the next one...
