Going on to our second year in a row, client decided to use us once again on this particular project due to our successes the previous year. After much brainstorming and based on client’s objective for the event, we decided to change this year’s hackathon theme to the Hackfest, as it blended well with the 36-hour nature of the event, and also fitted seamlessly with the new chosen venue being the old Imax, Park on 7, Hyde Park. We applied the festival theme to all graphics and designs, as well as to the nature of the furniture and décor, applying a lot of the neighbor goods style feel and pallet furniture. Our entertainment also incorporated the street style performers that would play throughout the day outside the main hall, under the Bedouin and astro turf flooring, where all our pallet furniture and food stations were positioned. Food stations to fit into the festival theme, included providers like Balkan burger, Anat, Paella and a waffle bar along with a barista and drinks service available throughout the 36 hours. Inside we used café style furniture, a through-the-night deli when you were feeling puckish and another barista and drinks bar. We brought in wall projection inside the venue to tie in again with the festival theme. On the other side of the venue on the roof top overlooking the street, we had an activity zone to refresh the brain, including outdoor festival type activities such as shuttle board, table tennis, giant Jenga, and foosball, along with bean bags and cocktail furniture to sit and relax in between breaks.
